I think it's AWESOME that you fixed the sink yourself! Way to go, mama! :) I think that if we don't push ourselves, our marriage, and our kids to be BETTER, to strive for more, that we fall into a rut of mediocracy. GREAT analogy!

Reading this made me smile. I come from a family of fix-it types so it wouldn't even occur to me to call a plumber for this sort of thing--if it got too out of control, I'd call my dad. I applaud you for doing it yourself! Sometimes learning new things means having to clean up the mess that comes from making a small mistake. I'm proud of you!

As for the parenting... I feel like my whole parenting life right now is a flooded kitchen floor. We're trying to clean it up and with time, it'll happen, but we've got to do something about the clog. Unfortunately it takes more than Draino to fix things when it comes to our kids!

We have to learn to push ourselves in relationships of all kinds (parenting, marriage, friendships, etc.) but to do your own plumbing...that takes bravery and courage not many possess!
