Oh my, I'm right there with you on the sewing! I hated it then and hate it now! And would you believe it - ALL my kids are GREAT at it! :) Go figure. (hmmmm - maybe a sewing project activity for you and your son and turn him loose on it? Or iron ons? That was always my fave solution. :) ). And such good points on priorities! As I used to remind myself, 30 years from now the cobwebs won't matter, but where will my kids be. (And now I know the answer - they'll be giving me cute grandkids and I'll be asking that same question. ;)

Can't wait to hear about your special project! And by the by, can you believe it's been a year since we first "met" at the Ultimate Blog Party 2010. And now it's time for 2011! Are you going to do it? Sounds like life might be too busy, but if so, I'll 'look" for you :)

My dad didn't come to my senior musical. I was heartbroken. A few months prior, he had lost two fingers in an accident at work, so his reasoning was, "I couldn't have clapped for you." He went to the bar instead.

I have vowed never, ever to do anything like that to my son. I will be front and center with anything that's important to him.

I totally relate. My 5 year old needs me to be at her school to pick her up before it's over. I have four kids so I usually get there just as it ends. We went back and fourth about it for the whole first semester this year, until I realized that is just something she really needs. And I do my best now to just make that a priority. It's like a whole different kind of love language!

There is something that makes applying those patches a whole lot easier than sewing. Trust me, I know...I've had plenty of scouts in my house and they come with plenty of badges.

I used, and I can't remember the name but it is a tacky glue that can be found at a craft store.

Seriously Sewing those little buggers was a pain to get straight and the needle never went through easily.

The tacky glue is permanent and If I remember correctly you use an iron after the badge is set in place.

Anyway, your posts are always inspiring and you have great insight!

Nice reminder to focus on what's important to them. It really does let them know we love and care for every detail of their life...just like God does for us.
I must admit I am not always very good at that. Mostly I am thinking about what I need to do next on MY list.

Thanks so very much for the reminder Melinda! With so many things on my plate I do forget that the little things are important to my little ones and taking time to focus on them will speak volumes about their value!
