Great reminder as always Melinda. That party sure sounds like fun but yeah I can completely picture the makings of a meltdown.

I hope everyone is healthy now. It's so hard to know sometimes when to slow down esp. when it seems they just want to go, go, go.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the "birthday boy beatdown"...oh boys.

I hope they've recovered from being sick. And it does sound like the boys had a great time. But, you're right. Sometimes they don't know when to stop and it's our job to show them their limits. Thanks for a great post!

It is too funny that your post was so opposite of mine. I will say that we must be good moms because we listen to our children and work with their personalities to parent. Not trying to fit them into our parenting style (though I would love to be able to do that :)) Luckily we have had no illnesses here this year (knock on wood). Just a little case of strep, which my Tween gets like 3x a year and barely keeps her down for 24 hours.
Oh and it sounds like a great party even with a fist fight. The nice thing about boys is that they get over that stuff so fast.

My goal is to always "leave on a high note" and I'm usually 30 seconds over the limit too late. We need to say when is when and mean it, not overdue a good thing. Guilty as charged.... :O)
